Floch exhibited his works at the Salons d'Automne and of les Tuileries in Paris from 1926. After playing a major role within the neo-realist movement patronized by the art critic Waldemar-George between the two World Wars, Floch sought refuge in the U.S around 1940 and then worked under the influence of Surrealist painters.

Flocon studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau between 1927 and 1930 and then worked for some advertising studios in Berlin and in Frankfurt until 1933. Fleeing Nazism, he settled in Paris and became the assistant of Vasarely in 1937. Flocon joined the French Foreign Legion at the outbreak of World War Two and after France's defeat sought refuge in the region of Toulouse. He was arrested in 1944 with his wife and daughter who were both killed in the Auschwitz extermination camp. He survived and returned to France after the war. Flocon then found in art a way to try to overcome his grief and produced engravings. He headed the Ermitage Studio School of Engraving and Drawing with Johnny Friedlaender between 1950 and 1952, founded the Graphics\" group and taught at the Estienne School until the early 1960s, before heading the department of perspective at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts from 1964 in Paris. Flocon took part in many exhibitions in France and abroad and illustrated numerous books. "

She took part in many exhibitions in Paris and at the Venice Biennial in 1952, as well as in many solo exhibitions in France, in Europe and in the U.S. Francken has been working as an abstract expressionist and pop artist and produced sculptures, her last creations being called the Wittgenstein Variations.
