*Asscher, Louis Birth - Death : 1883-1945 Nationality : Dutch
Asscher started his artistic career as a young age in Holland. Arrested in 1943, he was detained in the transit camp of Westerbork and then deported in January 1944 to Bergen-Belsen where he painted and drew scenes and portraits of inmates. He died in April 1945. The Nazis destroyed most of his works produced in Holland while those he executed in Bergen-Belsen were miraculously preserved.

Known mainly as a film producer, Aussenberg was also an amateur painter. Arrested by the Nazis in 1942 he was detained in Theresienstadt, where he depicted scenes of that camp in several drawings and then in Auschwitz where he died after October 1944.

Painter. Badower produced some Jewish scenes and portraits. This artist, who notably decorated the synagogue of Sosnowiec, disappeared during World War Two.

Baeckman's real name was A. Carvalho. He was a Dutch Jewish artist who belonged to the resistance movement and painted the plight of the deported Dutch Jews and his own family. No biographical information on this artist has been found so far.
*Balk, Zygmunt Birth - Death : 1873-1941 Nationality : Polish
Painter and stage designer in Lwow. This artist, who was awarded a gold medal in 1913 as a stage designer, painted some Judaic scenes during his career.
*Barcinski, Henoch Henryk Birth - Death : 1896-1941 Nationality : Polish
Barcinski studied in Kacenbogen's school in Lodz and under Glicenstein in Warsaw between 1915 and 1916. He completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden from 1919 to 1926. He also belonged to the “Jung Idysz” movement in Poland between 1918 and 1923 and to the Dresdner Secession. This artist painted in an Expressionist style Jewish scenes as well as landscapes in France and in Spain. Barcinski disappeared during World War Two.
*Behrman, Adolf (Abraham) Birth - Death : 1876-1942 Nationality : Polish
Behrman, who studied painting in Munich between 1900 and 1905 and in Paris between 1905 and 1910, painted many Judaic portraits during his career. He died in the ghetto of Bialystok during World War Two.
*Bekeris, Zale Birth - Death : 1896-1941 Nationality : Lithuanian
Bekeris lived with his family in Russia during the First World War and studied at the Academy in Moscow. He then frequented the Kaunas School of Art in 1925 and started to exhibit his works in Lithuania. He painted in a style reminiscent of Mane-Katz and other remarkable Jewish Expressionist artists. Bekeris was killed during the Second World War in Kaunas while most of his works were destroyed or stolen by the Nazis. Only eight survived, of which four are on display at the Vilna Gaon Jewish Museum.
*Ben Gis Birth - Death : Active during the first half of the 20th Century Nationality : Polish
This artist whose identity remains unknown used the alias of Ben Gis during his career. He exhibited some landscapes in 1935 at the Salon of the Jewish Association for the development of Fine Arts in Warsaw and also painted Jewish scenes. He presumably died during World War Two.
*Berger, Rachela Rivka Birth - Death : ?- 1942? Nationality : Polish
Berger taught drawing at the Perec Jewish school of Lublin during the 1930s. She disappeared during World War Two.
*Berline, Abraham Joseph Birth - Death : 1894-1942 Nationality : Ukrainian
Berline came in 1920 to Paris to study painting. Earning a living as a taxi driver he exhibited his works in several Salons from 1924. After the German invasion of France in 1940, Berline joined the French resistance movement. Arrested by the Gestapo in March 1941, he then produced drawings depicting living conditions in the detention camps of Compiegne and Drancy. Berline's wife was arrested in July 1942, while he was deported on September 14th 1942 to Auschwitz, where both were murdered.

*Bickels, Bickles Jakub Birth - Death : 1911-1944 Nationality : Polish
Caricaturist and painter. He notably produced caricatures of the participants of the Zionist Congress held in 1935 in Lucerne, Switzerland. This artist disappeared during World War Two.
*Bierer, Zygmunt Oskar Birth - Death : 1896-1941 Nationality : Polish
Bierer painted Judaic scenes and taught drawing in a Jewish college in Stanislawow. He also produced decors for the Jewish theatres of Lwow and Stanislawow. He disappeared during World War Two.
*Blaufuks, Arnold Aron Birth - Death : 1894-1942 Nationality : Polish
Blaufuks belonged to the “Jung Idysz” movement in Poland between 1918 and 1923 and worked as a painter and sculptor. He exhibited his works at the Salon of the Warsaw Jewish Association for the Development of Fine Arts in Palestine in 1934. The Nazis murdered Blaufuks during World War Two.

Bloch was deported from Vienna to Theresienstadt, where he worked as an artist in the Technical Office until 1944. He died in Auschwitz after his transfer there.
*Bloch, Ferdinand Birth - Death : 1898-1944 Nationality : Austrian
Bloch worked as a sketcher in Vienna until 1938 before settling in Prague. Detained in Theresienstadt in July 1942, he was employed there in the drawing department under the scrutiny of the Nazis and was arrested in July 1944 on charges of publishing lying propaganda. Bloch produced several drawings depicting the conditions in the ghetto of Theresienstadt before the Nazis murdered him on October 31st 1944.

Bobowski painted some Judaic portraits during his career. He disappeared during World War Two.
*Bornstein, Tadeusz Birth - Death : 1917 or 1919-1942 Nationality : Polish
Bornstein produced some drawings of the Warsaw ghetto. He died during World War Two either in Warsaw or in the extermination camp of Treblinka.
