Eberl, Francois-Maurice Zdenek Birth - Death : 1887-1963 Nationality : Czech
Eberl studied painting in 1905 in Prague and then visited Stockholm, Munich and Amsterdam. He settled in France in 1912 and started to show his works in several galleries before enlisting in the French Army at the outbreak of the First World War. Back in Paris in 1919, he notably painted still lifes, landscapes, cabaret scenes and portraits and also produced illustrations. Eberl sought refuge in Monaco during the Second World War and played an active role within the French resistance movement.

After working as an abstract painter, he returned to figurative works in 1932. Einstein settled in France after World War Two and took part in many exhibitions in Paris.
